"...where there's fear there's hope..." -gandi

No news is sad news, but in a detached, Zen-like way

Comments:
Yesterday I drove up to Surf City and back, listening to 104 The Bone and right to life radio ("embryonic citizens,") and compulsively checking every pier I could find. Sad all day till finally giving up and jumping in the water at around 4:00. Paddled against the current, into the wind for an hour in a futile attempt to hold my position by the hot spot where there was chaotic, 1 inch chop mushily pushing toward the shore, where it would then suddenly rise up to 1 foot and crash right on to the sand. Good times.
Better times happened when gree c and Pat finally showed up after work, I chucked the board, and we all just swam and body surfed. I'm trying to learn how to do that, and so I'm watching gree c for clues, since she is the expert in that department.

And now gandi is here and we're gonna drive south today, I think. Good times lie ahead.

wow, have fun kids... I hope the waves pick up for u. What the hell is anembryonic citizen? I'm picturing a worm in a tophat.

Is "an embryonic citizen" something the Bush administration invented to overturn Roe V. Wade?? What does that have to do with surfing?
Have fun everyone. How bout that trick of throwing some explosives in the water??

Hey Ghandi...stay away from Richard Gere--he likes to kizza the Indian women.

"...where there's Cape Fear there's no hope..." -gandi after yesterday experience.

I mean yesterday was fun as a road trip with gandi, who cracked me up all day. We drove up to Emerald Isle, past a huge & deeply creepy marines base, which included sniper practice ranges right next to the road. I'm no expert on guns, but I thought that seemed like a bad idea.
Anyway, the sweet guy at the surf shop who does the daily surf report on his website told us to go north for any hope of something. And it was true, the waves there were big at times. But the only problem was that they were insanely chaotic and all over the place. It took my concept of choppy to a whole new level. Gandi said it looked like a Winslow Homer painting. I hadn't taken a beating like that since the early days of figuring out how to surf, so I guess in a sense it was good for me to be reminded of how easy I have it. Umm...

Sounds like a great time Capt'n. Be careful on the waves though. I want you in one piece when I come to visit in LA.

Hello!
This sounds fantastic! Except the beatings by the big sea lady. Sheesh, she be ruff, Mary. Say HAAAAY to the littler ladies!

Haaay Gay!

And Hey peeds! We had a good old time today because we finally found the sweet spot. No worries, I'm stayin' in good shape for your visit to LA.
Now I'm at the airport. Just said goodbye to gree c, angela, and pat. Boo-hoo.

hey where's the new post Capt'n
Im so happy to be home
