More pictures from Turkey

Another person would have been over it by now, but not me. Another person would have "moved on" to more "pressing" matters, like working on their 2005 taxes that they got an extension for & that are now due any second. Or even washing the dishes.
But I find looking at pictures from Cappadocia much more interesting. It's this beautiful region in south central Anatolia that has insane soft rock formations from erosion, where people started carving elaborate caves at least 5,000 years ago. And they still live in the dang things today!

The first town we got to was Urgup. This was the public parking lot.
<---

This was across the street from the parking lot.-->

Gree c liked the graphics on this electrical box.
<---

Danger! --->

<-- This was in Uchisar. They call it The Castle.

A closeup of the Castle. We were like, whoa, and then we had to have dinner and a drink at a place overlooking it, just to process it all. -->

<--Our favorite little town, Goreme.

Here's part of an insane looking valley filled with elaborate, interconnected cave churches, dining halls, all kinds of stuff, and living quaters.
A bunch of the early Christians used to hide out here. -->

<---We tended to like the iconoclast stuff the best. This image is what we call "The Chicken Roach." Does it represent the Debbil?

Here is St. Onuphrius, the bearded lady saint, after whom San Diego's famous surf spot San Onofre is named. S/he is also the patron saint of Mountain Man I'm told. -->

<-- Ooh look, it's gree c's cute lil' cave room where we stayed.

Gree c's view out her cute lil' cave window. -->

Here is a valley of "fairy chimneys," as they are called. I think saint Simon and his friends lived in the monk towers up in there.
<---

<--This is Weenus Valley. It is about 2 inches from where we stayed in our cute lil' cave room. Well it was more of a cave suite, actually.

Another angle of Valley of the Weenus. --->

<--- This was on the road up from our place, the road that led to the overview of aforementioned Weenis Valley. It is a circular room with a giant grinding wheel in the middle, with a wooden thing to attach to the donkey or people who would walk around and around.

On our way out of the region we stopped back in Urgup to this Hamam to get a "Turkish bath." Somebody was very crusty and dusty. -->

I'm looking at this with Gree C. and getting the extended remix tour while listening to melissa Ethridge singing Delta Dawn- she claims she didn't know it was in her iTunes...
WOW. SO BEAUTIFUL. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Gaylord,
It might be time to go over what true and false is again. It's true I like to put on a mask and play Mister where is my mouth, that's true and that's is a good time, It's true wearing boxer shorts and a bra and laying on the floor is naked, no that's false because you're still wearing some clothes. It's true that Kitty Wells, Red Sovine or the Dixie Chicks are Melissa Etheridge, again false because they are good and Melissa hurts your feelings.
Capt'n I'm sorry to have to work this out on the blog like this, don't worry we're going to meetings.
Thanks for these pixs and thanks for the best trip ever
dear Team Leaders-Right now as we speak a certain monkey I know is researching our next trip which is to Peru where they apparently have the best break in South America which goes on for a mile.

Gree C...you're the only one who will come to my window. Thanks sister.

You mean Chicama, Peru, "the world's longest left?" Yeah man, I'm in! I really want to go. This friendly acquaintence from Tourmaline, Billy, was telling me all about it. They spent like a month down there and apparently it was encroyable. "It makes Malibu look like a joke."
gree c, here is the diagram of Chicama:

These pictures are AMAZING, capt'n! SO cool and fascinatin'... totally makes me want to go there. The Castle & the cave-churches look like they were made by ant-people; I can just picture them carrying giant leaves 100x their size in and out of the little doorways. I like the Bearded Lady saint; is she the patron saint of morning glass?... & is that a Weenus Flytrap on her tum?

Slothy you are exactly correct: that is a Weenus Flytrap on her tum and bathing suit area. She was a modest nudist.
And I love your image of the ant-people carrying the giant leaves into the little holes. They do look like giant ant hills. That castle thing is enormous. Must be like 10 stories high. The caves in the mounds or in the sides of the mountains are connected via these elaborate tunnels. It's crazytown in there. Gree c wrote a while back about how we went from one side of this lil' mountain to another thru the tunnels. She led the way, climbing up this narrow tunnel/tube shaft/upright coffin with carved-out hand holds, holding a tiny pen-sized flashlight in her mouth. Soon she disappeared ahead of us and everything went pitch black. I got an attack of claustrophobia that I didn't know till then I was a sufferer of. Me and some scared teens kept turning back and scrambling towards the opening. Dick Blu and the brave teens decided to forge ahead. Finally 4 civil servant-type soldiers came along and eventually coaxed the scardeycat group into going through with it, lighting the way for us with their lighters and cell phones. It was of course worth it, but whoa, those ant people were interesting characters. And that's not even getting into the whole underground tunnel cities that Sea Monkey was mentioning.

capt- we're doing everything in our power to get the ship to Chicama in one year's time- there are pervert Representative's letters, wigats and new york times getting in the way- but they shouldnt cause any significant distractions

ALOHA CAPITON! What beautiful pics. I love the little garages. Did parking attendants come out to park the cars? I was still laughing about my grandma giving head, and know i'm laughing about Melissa Etheridge. These pics are really beautiful though. I am here--soooo tired and trying to plan my day. Japan is a blast, to say the least. It is visual overload.
My love to you...
