Hot off the presses and ready to live in the world is this incredible new project.
The Encyclopedia Project is an encyclopedia of fiction and fictional forms. It is a 5-volume hardcover book project that seeks to present a wide variety of approaches to narrative by reimagining and reinterpreting the reference book and the literary journal. The first volume is Encyclopedia Vol 1 A-E and its 336 pages are filled with original fiction, paintings, essays, plays, photographs, lists, prose poems, and video stills by 114 writers and artists.
Encyclopedia borrows the aesthetic and design of the traditional encyclopedia, but subverts the canonical structure and method. Like the traditional encyclopedia, our Encyclopedia’s entries span A-Z, and will be contained in five cross-referenced volumes that will be published annually—Vol. 2, F-K; Vol. 3 L-P; Vol. 4 R-U; and Vol. 5 V-Z.
We began The Encyclopedia Project, and our press, Encyclomedia, because we saw the necessity of increasing visibility not just of “the arts” but of the arts that are continually marginalized because of social and cultural biases against work considered “experimental” or “avant-garde”. We also wanted to challenge the ways in which traditional literary journals and anthologies segregate arts and artists rather than connect them and their ideas, and to offer a venue for new, innovative works. The Encyclopedists

I am interested in this encyclopedia.
The only thing that I find truly annoying about you, pd, is that you live so far away, and for that I blame you.
Okay, you can blame me Capt'n. I know it is pretty sad that I live here and don't think I don't beat myself up over it. I just see myself getting swallowed up in a wave out there, with no Michael Hasselhoff or Pamela Anderson to save me.
Capt'n, it's been an intense few weeks for you, what with the arrival of your new Miep and the passing of the Tang and all... the big wheel she do turn.
Anyway, yeah, how 'bout that Encyclopedia Projek? Cool shit, huh? Ferget the bookstore- those 3 live in Providence, and I'll bet you could drop in on Miranda and pick one up on your way to The Cod.
I love that pudding, but haven't eaten it in awhile 'cause it makes me miss my pops. I also like their rice pudding. I wish I had some pudding for breakfast.
yeah, I know how you feel. now i wish I'd saved the Shack till this morning. After insomnia and a morning of hassley chores and broken things, I gotta run off to the Werkplatz. Dag. A Shack sure woulda helped.
#2 Mandy Mellis is awesome

I just sold my extra surfboard, the Mustang Megalodon. Sniff. The board I "learned" on. Sniff. This is not a tragedy, this was an empowered choice. I'm just having a moment of sentimental feelin's.

The Encyclopedia thing is truly remarkable. We're not just saying that because certain members and affiliates of Team Shredder are in it. We're super excited and impressed anyway.

Aw Capt'n, sorry you had to do that, but just think someone out there is riding the waves with ease 'cause of your positive energy.
I am interested in this encyclopedia.

I don't think the monkey of the sea is in this one, tragically for us. I think it was a logistical thing, don't really remember. But surely the next one. There will be 5 volumes total. Check out their handsome website (link's on my post)....you can buy them there.

The cutest little guy who is just starting out surfing bought the 'Tang, as Sea Monkey called it. Good viber guy, I felt good about it. I don't think I could have turned it over to a choad. The little guy who bought it was taking it out this afternoon with his friend. So cute. I was all, "Have fun, cute little good viber guy! Are you gay?"
By The Capt'n, at 12:18 PM
Oh that's good. No choads allowed.

, atIt's true, pd, it's wave eat surfer out here. I know it's dog eat dog there. But that's the place to be if you are not yet a retired person or grad student or obsessive surfer or military freak. I understand.

Capt'n, this proj looks really exciting and inneresting! I just poked around on the web site & am so very curious to see it in the reals. It gives me a good reason to stop in at Myopic Books in Providence on my next trip to The Cod.
Capt'n, it's been an intense few weeks for you, what with the arrival of your new Miep and the passing of the Tang and all... the big wheel she do turn.
She do, Sloth, boy do she do. And thanks fer noticin' the trials and tribulations of our lil' Team up in here. Between the Miep and the 'Tang, it's about as much excitement as we can handle. We're not tuff like you Norf*ckineasters...we see the leaves on a palm tree fluttering in the wind and we get all overstimulated.
Anyway, yeah, how 'bout that Encyclopedia Projek? Cool shit, huh? Ferget the bookstore- those 3 live in Providence, and I'll bet you could drop in on Miranda and pick one up on your way to The Cod.
