Music Secrets: a reader's survey

Dear Reader:
You fascinate me.

That's why the time has come for me to probe your dark psyche in search of your true Music Secrets.
Team Shredder expects nothing less than full disclosure. Your brutal honesty will pay off in untold ways as the healing powers of acceptance intermingle with the Grand Illusion otherwise known as "persona."

Tecnically, it doesn't only have to be music. Your secret love can apply to any art form.
In the interests of creating a safe space and getting things rolling, I'm providing the following earlybird data preview:

Dick Blue: Supertramp.
Explaination: Was her first taste of the rock and the roll, having been raised on mostly recordings of choral music, both great classics and sad other. Her older cousin drove her out back on his dirt/mini bike and somehow Supertramp was involved. Lives were changed.

The Capt'n: Cat Stevens and Steely Dan.
Explaination: Cat reminds her of sweeter times in the early 70's and her hippy alternative elementary school, where her teachers Hannah and Carol played it on the boom box. Steely Dan cannot be explained. May have to do with pleasant early 80's high school drug experiences, or may have to do with Zoe Strauss and "Peg."

Sea Monkey: Chicago, All That Jazz, all things Fossey.
Explaination: Her deep respect for the mostly under-appretiated talents of the performers of musical theater. Like the Hollywood stars of yesteryear, these people can sing, dance, and act, all at the same time. Plus she thinks that kind of dancing is downright sexy.

Comments:
Steely dan is hot.
I might feel that way about Gentle Giant.
very formative, my older brother turned me on to them (prog rock extrodinaire) but GODDESS knows how he came across them. we went to all of their shows when they came to NY, at one show, everyone in the audience wore the same mask of the giant (cut out from their album cover)! Also I painted Gentle Giant on the back of my army jacket.
Occationally I try to get a friend to listen to them but I've yet to convert anyone to the ways of the Giant.

Capt'n,
when you smile for the camera
you know I'm gonna love it
Love,
Zoe Strauss

oh capt'n where to start
we did alot of Cat in our house and Richie Havens early on
my dad, the dandy, brought me to see A Chorusline when I was 12 and then I got the album and sang along every song
and yes Sea Monkey my dad and I both thought the dancing was saucy
I also did atleast one solid year with then southern rock stoner crew in junior high and went to see the Charlie Daniels band-the devil went down to georgia tour-I brought some vodka and grapefruit juice in an old hellmann's jar and fell through my folding chair
and maybe before all that my brother made me go to see Chuck Mangione with him around the time of that Lake Placid olympics big very big hit and I don't remember hating it
I'm sure there's more......

Dear Readers:
VERY interesting results! I believe the data to be 100% accurate, and I'm very pleased at the brilliance.
Corny, my suspicions about you were right & it's clear to me now that you have always had your finger on the pulse. I mean my god, the authenticity! I can't help but look to you as a true leader in sound and vision.
Dagger, what can I say? Who knew when you go-go danced at club Fur Salon in '89 to Steely Dan's "Peg" dressed as a cheerleader that it would lead you to glories equally great in '06? The Camera!! So intuitive on your part, truly visionary.
Gree C., it's like you transcend style altogether. Dancing effortlessly between genres, your art is you is your life. That vodka in the Hellmann's jar/folding chair scene was so visceral, so art brut. Not bound by any rules, then and now, the data confirms that you are a natural & original.

first concert: waylon jennings/tanya tucker at the Iowa State Fair

Music secret: early King crimson

fb, very intriguing. Kind of nelly-butch, very American, but there is a soulfulness there. Something true. Thank you for your input.
