Dad, love

Today is the 10th anniversary of my Dad's death.

Here is his old I.D. from when he was a merchant marine.

This is Dad in a bar sometime in the 60's I think.

Here he is at our old apartment at 1011 Spruce Street, circa 1971.
On the walls are my brother's and my drawings. John drew cars, tanks, and elaborate battle scenes, and I drew "designs."

This is my Dad and brother in the wheelhouse, taking turns steering the ship, on one of the few trips they made together.
Dad was a sailor and truck driver for over 50 years, and John's been sailing for over 20 already.

Mom and Dad and me in 1995.
Mom died a month after Dad.
I'll do a post about her next month.

Dear Dagger,
Your dad was a shining star...look at his daughter. Once, about 18 years ago, your dad and John stopped by 48th St. for you, you weren't home, and I remember thinking he couldn't look any more like a sailor. They just stopped by to say hi.
Love,
Dagger
